3D Art Lecturer

We're partnered with the prestigous Abertay University to help them find a 3D Art Lecturer.

This is a brilliant role for someone from the industry, currently an Artist - to step in to teaching and help guide the next generation of Game Developers.

With historic links to the UK Games Industry, this role will see you join the ranks of THE Games education establishment in the UK.

We are ideally looking for a 3D Artist, at mid-level. Someone still 'hands on' and currently or just finished working on a Game. Any 3D Art is welcome, environments, characters to assets and generalists. The engines and 3D Art packages you've used doesn't matter as much as the fact you've used them. The University use everything from Unreal, Unity to Maya, 3DS Max and Adobe. The key thing is you bring a working knowledge of creating 3D Art from within a Games Studio.

You DO NOT have to have any lecturing or teaching background.

The 'teaching' part will be taught to you by their own internal training, calling on the experience of their current professors and lecturers.

The curriculum exists already, but a lot of it is 'self authored', so you can re-write it providing you keep to the broad topics.

Also - HOW it is delivered will be up to you. They're ideally looking for high energy, interactive and kinetic delivery.

To be considered, we'd love to see:

  • Recent and current 3D Art experience, within a Games Studio
  • A current, varied and polished portfolio of your art work
  • Strong communication skills, a collaborative and inclusive style
  • Able to relocate or based in Dundee
  • Passion for the Games Industry
  • Approachable and self motivated attitude

The role is based in Dundee, but you can set your own timetable, and have ringfenced 'research' time which is for you to use.

The role is 35 hours per week.

Salary is from £37,000 - £54,000 plus benefits including up to 8 weeks of holidays. Relocation allowance will also be provided.
