Following the appointment of 8 Middle Grades to support the return of Maternity services, exciting opportunities are now open at East Cheshire NHS Trust (ECT) for innovative and forward-thinking clinicians to join our well-established Anaesthetic Department which offers the prospect of a rewarding career.


Following significant investment at Macclesfield District General Hospital, the successful applicant will have a unique opportunity to provide safe, effective, and personal care to the population of rural Macclesfield.

This role attracts a recruitment and retention premia which is an additional 30% of the basic salary, to be paid in 3 instalments as follows:

  • 10% of basic salary on commencement of post
  • 10% of basic salary on completion of year 10% of basic salary on completion of year 2
In addition to this, permanent Consultant posts will attract relocation expenses up to a maximum of £8,000, Please refer to the Relocation Policy attached for further information

This is a substantive post for a Consultant Anaesthetist with an interest in Obstetric Anaesthesia working within the Department of Anaesthetics.

The post is daytime only with no on call commitment. However, the inclusion of on call can be discussed at the applicant's request.

The vacancy is for up to 10 Programmed Activities, inclusive of Direct Clinical Care, with associated Supporting Professional Activities. The post will involve 6/7 daytime theatre sessions which will be flexible depending upon the service requirements.
