As a paint Specialist working for Caterpillar, you will have the opportunity to work with and contribute towards a team of semi-skilled and skilled Paint Specialist employees.

In this role, you will perform more complex paint tasks. This skilled role allows you to develop your communication and interpersonal skills as well as use your initiative. You will interact with hourly and salaried employees at your facility and will receive guidance from your Team Leader.

There are opportunities for those Paint Specialists who are keen to progress in the production environment and to leadership positions.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Finish paint of a range of solutions product
Finish paint components, free of runs and sags. Cosmetic appearance must be of high quality
Inspects, tests, cleans, adjusts, repairs and services spray guns and other painting or coating equipment
May set up, undercoat, seal joints, oven bake, check Dealer Forecast Tracking (DFT) and ensure relevant paperwork accompanies work orders
Repairs defects on painted products as required
Compliance with safety and quality standards
Compliance with 5S programme and other business improvement initiatives
Display behavior and conduct fitting with our Values in Action
Train other employees if and when required
Loading and offloading of parts to paint line
Ability to work from heights and in confined space
Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns and a reasonable amount of overtime

Skills and Experience:

Previous experience working in a lean environment
The ability to follow and comprehend verbal, specific and detailed procedures, and work instructions as well as basic arithmetic calculations in order to perform the duties described above
Ability to work from heights and in confined space

Strong customer focus

Ability to prioritize and organize sequence of work
