Location:

Liberis is the leading global provider of embedded business finance and are proud to have delivered more than $1bn in funding to SMEs across the UK, EU and US, but we've only just started.

Come and join us as we build the future of business finance.

Who we are and why we exist

We have been on a mission to provide small and medium businesses (SMEs) with accessible and responsive finance since 2007.

SMEs account for most businesses worldwide and are critical contributors to job creation and global economic development. They represent about 90% of businesses and more than 50% of employment worldwide.

However, more than three quarters (77%) of SME businesses last year were unable to secure traditional bank financing they desperately needed to grow and thrive.

This has created a $5 trillion funding gap for SMEs globally.

That's where Liberis steps in To best help small businesses, Liberis has built the leading global embedded finance platform.

Through this platform, Liberis provides partners with the technology and financial solutions necessary to offer personalised and accessible funding to their small business customers.

To date with ~20 global strategic partners and direct reach to more than 1 million small businesses, Liberis has provided $1 bn of funding in over 50,000 transactions, enabling more than 100,000 jobs to be created and saved.

We are in a very exciting period of growth, both within the UK and internationally, with teams based in London, Nottingham, USA, and Scandinavia.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for talented and ambitious individuals to join us to reshape business finance.

What we are looking for in a nutshell

What you'll be doing
-
Own the Data Model

  • You will own our team's data model and be responsible for its ongoing expansion and optimisation. When a new analytics data need arises, you will drive the conversations of how they're fulfilled.
  • You will work in a collaborative, crossfunctional way, ensuring that our various domain teams are building with output data products in mind.
  • Bring in new tooling, ways of working, data processes and modelling techniques to ensure we're taking a pragmatic, forward thinking approach to our model building a model to power Liberis reporting and insights now, and in the future.
  • Behind all this, we have teams working on the build of a data platform that will support Liberis' ambitious goals. You will be a key voice of the end users and our needs within that conversation.
-
Expansion

  • You will be working with stakeholders (internal and external to the team) to identify and prioritise the various additional data to be brought into our model
  • You'll be bringing that new data into our database, then building them into our organised data model
  • This will include creating brand new modules and datasets, as well as the expansion of currently existing ones
  • You will help drive the our data modelling capabilities forwards; with more complex datasets, model approaches, and more for example, to support nearrealtime models and views of key business entities, as our products start to publish events
-
Optimisation

  • Build increasing rigour into the data we represent to our stakeholders and teams,
  • Establish performance & accuracy reporting for our data,
  • Improve the speed and compute efficiency of our datasets.

What you'll need to be successful
-
The skills you will need:

  • Significant experience with SQL and relational databases is essential
  • Experience designing and building userfocused data models, ideally for Analytics consumption
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, able to channel empathy and motivate others to action
  • The capability to quickly grasp new concepts and business dynamics, able to operate effectively and comfortably with generalist business knowledge
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data management, design, validation, cleansing, profiling, and related tools.

We also value experience, or curiosity to learn about, how to version control and automatically test data transformations and data model changes, to ensure changes are safe, easy, repeatable and auditable.

The behaviours you will need:

  • Action Orientated. You are inclined towards action; preferring to build, test, and optimise vs spending too much time conceptualising what _could_ be done.
  • You pivot from experimentation to building a robust solution at the right time, to ensure you build data models in ways that make them reliable, secure, maintainable and changeable, and easy to reason about outside of your immediate team.
  • Inquisitive and determined
. You will need to work across the business to find, source, and leverage data being created across the business. This isn't always an easy task and takes some d
