Reporting directly to the Supervisor, this is a hands-on role working withing a fast-moving operation with strict deadlines to achieve to ensure incoming goods are processed, put into the correct locations, and ready to despatch to our customers.


Key Tasks/Areas of Responsibility:


  • Support the supervisor with the daytoday management of warehouse operatives through leadership, coaching and motivation
  • Understanding and achievement of Key Performance Indicators, target service levels and other metrics
  • Align with internal customers in other departments to ensure high performance teamwork
  • Provide cover in the absence of the departmental supervisor
  • Maintain high levels of Health & Safety standards
  • Achieve the targets and job standards set out by the Warehouse Supervisor/Manager
  • Be committed to developing and ensuring best practice and compliance
  • Actively follow guidance and policies in relation to equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion, security, and confidentiality.
  • Perform any reasonable requests from Warehouse Supervisor/Manager.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience of working within a busy warehouse environment
  • Experience in leading and managing a team
  • Good communication skills and the ability to support with the communication of performance levels to team members through briefing sessions and training
  • Be a strong team player and enjoy working with others to achieve the best result
  • Good dexterity
  • Good IT and administration skills
  • Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility in your approach to work

Advantageous

  • Full manual driving licence advantageous (possible requirement to visit other warehouses)
  • Forklift Truck License (desirable but not essential as training will be given)
  • Stock Management Software experience
  • Current First Aid certificate
