We're looking for a General Operative to join our Highways team based in Park Gate Motorway Compound, Fareham to carry out a variety of highway maintenance duties as instructed on a day-to-day basis to ensure the efficient running of the Area 3 network.

Park Gate Motorway Compound, Fareham


Contract:
Permanent - Night Working (payment uplift in place)


Salary:
£ £13.64 (depending on experience) + benefits


Responsibilities
As a General Operative, you'll carry out highways maintenance duties as instructed. This will include winter maintenance activities when appropriate.

Your day to day will include:

  • Respond promptly to incidents on the network as instructed.
  • Work in close cooperation with team members and subcontractors, contributing to the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment for both the network users and work team by ensuring compliance all H&S procedures
  • Responsible for notification to the Regional Network Hub Control Centre on commencement and end of occupation of Roadspace for Traffic Management
  • Carry out daily defect reports on vehicles and ensure vehicles are maintained in good order.
  • Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Management System.
