Hours:
Monday 1pm-6pm and Friday 9am-6pm.
We are currently recruiting for a Nursery Assistant to join our Trafford Day Nursery and Preschool to provide 1:1 support for a child with SEND.

What you'll be doing
- Plan, create and implement engaging activities, tailored to each of your key children, to encourage their development towards key milestones.
- Observing, tracking and reflecting on learning
- Develop and maintain strong parent/ carer partnerships
- Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding procedures and policies are followed at all times
- Work with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy and safe environment on a day to day basis
- Make accurate and effective assessments which reflect the needs, interests and stages of development of the child by effective delivery of the key person approach. Collate this information to contribute to Support plan reviews and or EHCP's
- Ensure effective communication with the setting SENDCO and support collaboration between the setting, professionals and parents.
- Attend training sessions specific to the children with SEND for continuous professional development and cascade this to the wider team
- To provide support for your colleagues within the nursery and the broader business.

What we're looking for
- Previous experience working with children (ideally as a Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nursery Assistant or similar)
- Additional and Relevant SEND related training is preferred
- Previous experience working with children (ideally as a Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nursery Assistant or similar)
- Passion for making learning fun and engaging for each child
- Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with both colleagues and parents
- Ability to use a variety of techniques to clearly and successfully communicate with both children and adults
- Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children
- Experience of working within the Early Years Sector
- Experience of working with children with Special Education Needs and Disabilities
- Previous experience of working one to one with children with Special Education Needs and Disabilities
