Job Purpose


Carry out kitchen tasks including cleaning duties washing up, sweeping and mopping floors, deep cleaning fridges following daily and weekly cleaning rotas.

Receive deliveries carry out temperature checks and put away stock ensuring rotation. Basic food prep,following strict Food Safety and Allergen policies.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manually wash up all eating utensils and equipment, sterilising where required, following set guidelines
  • Use dishwasher where appropriate making sure all equipment is clean and put away correctly
  • Complete cleaning duties including emptying bins sweeping and mopping floors, following daily and weekly rota's
  • Deep clean fridges and storeroom ensuring health and safety, food safety and allergen standards are maintained
  • Put away deliveries as instructed, ensuring correct stock rotation and quality control guidelines
  • Receive deliveries when directed by line Manager, carrying out quantity, quality and temperature checks
  • Basic food prep, baking (e.g shortbread, flapjack and scones) serving of jacket potatoes and breakfast specials, including preparation of fillings etc


You will be required to undertake mandatory training on commencement and every 3 years thereafter in Food Safety, Allergen Awareness and Health and Safety Manual Handling.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

You'll will be able to carry out all the physical aspects of the role working at pace within a busy environment in variable kitchen temperatures.


Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Experience of working in a catering environment.


Working Conditions
The following section provides an outline of the working conditions that may be encountered in this role:

  • Moving and handling, including frequent bending and lifting
  • Washing up. Industrial height low sinks, slip hazards
  • Exposure to heat through ovens/hot cupboards
  • Exposure to chemicals with irritant classification
  • Exposure to food products which may be irritants (tomatoes, potatoes, onions, garlic, fruits, lettuce)
  • Use of knives
  • Work is at a fast pace
  • Temperature variants
We are looking for either 1 KP that works 30 hours per week over 4 days with alternate weekends or 1 KP for 22 hours that works over 3 days with alternate weekends
