Finance Analyst - Tax
12 month FTC (maternity cover)
£35,000 - £40,000

Aila is excited to announce that it has an exclusive partnership with a leading, listed and global brand in Central London in the recruitment of an Interim Tax Analyst for a 12-month maternity cover.

Our client is a leader within its field, has an impressive reach and operates through several brands. The company has had a strong few years of growth and are outperforming their competitors. They look after their staff and are very flexible with hybrid working.
You will be required to go to the office 1-2 days a week maximum.

This will be a great opportunity for somebody that wants to join a fast-paced working environment within a business that has people at the forefront of everything they do, in an inclusive culture.

We're looking for someone with at least 1-2 years of experience in finance, ideally in a shared service centre.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a large, European and fast-paced finance function and wants to work in tax specifically.

Experience in international tax would be beneficial but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and submit EMEA subsidiary VAT /EC Sales / Intrastat returns
Liaise with GAS, AP, AR teams and external advisors
Prepare and submit Canadian subsidiary Indirect Tax Returns
Prepare and submit ecommerce distance selling VAT returns for c30 countries by working with external advisors
Review and supervise the coding of invoices by AP answering queries and identifying errors which lead to more accurate posting of invoices
Assist Director Global Indirect Tax in the optimization and streamlining of the Indirect Tax processes (including payments) and reporting across EMEA
Assist Director Global Indirect Tax with various Indirect Tax projects:
Prepare VAT return journals (monthly clearing of the VAT accounts) and monitoring VAT and GST accounts
Reconcile VAT GL balance sheet accounts with related VAT returns

To be successful in this role, you will be a fast learner, with strong Excel skills, who wants to work in a complex tax environment.

Ideally you will have experience in a fast-paced and large company, in a finance or VAT/customs related role.
