About the Employer


I am the employer and father of my teenage son My son's Disability and Health Conditions are: Mild Learning Disability.

Autism Spectrum Disorder. Neurofibromatosis Type 1.

Prone to Anxiety We are looking a PA to our 17 year old son, to continue in his development of independence, working as a proactive team, to ensure our son reaches his full potential.

He resides at home with his sisters, my wife and myself. Our son has full mobility and may require prompting to ensure his safety when out in social situations.

He is a lovely, warm and funny 17 year old who enjoys walking, attending football match's, reading, music and films.

Our son and us are seeking a PA to befriend, and support him when he requires it, to allow him social time with others outside of the family home, offer him new experiences and promote his independence, whilst also giving us a break from our caring role.

About the Role

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities.
  • Assist and encourage socialisation, participating in activities.
  • Promote and encourage friendships and independence.
  • Develop a good and trusting one to one working relationship.


  • Other Duties include:

  • To support our son in developing his life and social skills and help build his confidence.
  • To be proactive in identifying suitable activities and venues and be willing to get involved in his choices
The individuals needs may vary from day to day and your tasks may reflect this. You could be required to perform other duties as reasonably required.

You have a responsibility as an employee to report all accidents to the employer immediately. You have a duty to report defects and / or hazards which may give rise to an accident. You are to ensure the safety of the individual at all times.


Transport Requirement
Car driver and car owner - must have business insurance.


Required Skills:


  • Be honest, reliable, trustworthy and punctual.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy, including the prohibited use of social media in relation to the job role.
  • Be patient, supportive and caring.
  • Have good listening skills and be able to provide nonjudgemental emotional support.
  • Be empathetic.
  • Previous caring experience is not essential, however you should have a genuine interest in supporting people with a disability/illness to achieve their goals.
  • Flexibility would be an advantage as the hours may be variable.
  • Be selfmotivated with a willingness to get involved.
  • Have a lively personality.
