Description

The Service is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, reliable, and self-motivated technical service assistant for a position in our assets section within the technical service section based at Bowburn, Durham.


The technical service assistant is a significant member of the technical service section which provides support to ensure the operational efficiency of the Service, including administrative support and the transportation of vehicles, equipment, and supplies in line with service requirements.


The post holder will be responsible for the movement of supplies to and from any Service locations and assisting the store's manager and staff with the delivery, storage and organisation of stores as requested.


The post holder will also be required to carry out numerous recordings and tracking of items by utilising different IT systems.

Training will be provided.

The applicant must hold a current full driving licence with preferably Category C1.

Knowledge of manual handling, health and safety and an understanding of I.T. systems, including word, excel, Microsoft teams use.


Skills and experience required of a technical service assistant:

  • Significant experience of working in a team.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workloads.
  • Ability to use I.T. systems.
  • Commitment to teamwork and flexibility.
  • Good communication skills.


In return the post offers 27 days annual leave rising to 32 days after 5 years, provision of uniform and work ware, sports facilities, car parking and a pension scheme.
