In addition, the Associate Dean for Recruitment will advise and assist the programmes team regarding the design and development of GP training programmes that provide a balance of experiences.


The postholder will work as an Executive Board member of the GP School in the West Midlands, providing a pivotal role in strategic planning, development and delivery of GP training, and monitoring of ' Promoting Excellence' in standards of general practice education.


They will also provide expert advice and support for the training and education of Doctors in GP Training aswell as the wider Primary Care workforce by supporting the Training Hubs, Integral Care Boards and the Midlands Primary Care School.

Works alongside the NRO to recruit doctors into GP Training for the WM & assist in national recruitment processes
Provide support to local & national GP recruitment & assessment processes attending relevant meetings on behalf of the WM GP School

Help ensure the GP Training Programmes are balanced & provide a good experience in specialty attachments as well as GP placements.

This involves working closely alongside the GP Programmes Team
Provide training & support to GP trainers, CSs & other members of the training practice team regarding the recruitment process
Provide additional support for the GP School in line with the responsibilities of an AD. This may include involvement in ARCP, Appeals & Investigations and any additional activities
Liaise with relevant Medical Education Committees, Foundation School Committees & JDFs, acting as a link between these forums and the GP School & Programme Teams
Liaise with LE regarding mainly the recruitment and on-boarding of doctors in training plus any additional Employment, Health & other Professional Issues
Keep up to date with national & local policies in relation to GP training & the recruitment process
Support & represent the GP School with any additional activities including QA Visits esp in situations where other ADs may be compromised
Involvement in quality management of Training Practices, Training Hubs, Hospital Placements & OOH training for GP trainees
Encourage & support the faculty development of trainees/trainers/TPDs/ADs
