My client is global freight and logistics forwarding provider operating across land, air and sea freight movements and due to growth, we are delighted to support in their search for a Freight Forwarding Executive to join their new start-up UK operations team.

You will be responsible to manage the day-to-day aspects of freight forwarding via sub-contracted means of transport, dealing with haulers, customs, shipping firms, customers and overall, ensuring a seamless service operation within this busy environment ensuringall targets are met and customer expectations delivered.

50/50 office and remote working

Hours:
Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00


Key Responsibilities:

  • Explaining service pricing, following up on quotes, and negotiate with customers to increase margins.
  • Resolving customer issues and queries as necessary.
  • Monitor delivery performance and notify customers with any delays.
  • Complete and respond to all customer queries surrounding transport solutions.
  • Ensure deliveries are scheduled on time and in line with customer expectations.
  • Handle LCL/FCL operations

  • Select shipment routes, based on nature of goods, transit times, or security needs.
  • Complete shipping documentation, such as bills of lading, packing lists, dock receipts, certificates of origin and customs clearance.
  • Preparing and providing documents to customers in accordance with the terms of shipment standard operating procedures
  • Consolidate loads with a common destination to reduce costs to individual shippers.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation, political situations, or other factors that could affect freight shipping.
  • Obtaining, checking and preparing documentation to meet customs and insurance requirements, packing specifications, and compliance with other countries regulations.

Key Skills:

  • Experience of Freight Forwarding or transport industry would be advantageous.
  • Experience working in a customer service led & administrative role.
  • Excellent communication with a strong focus on excellent customer service and relationship building skills.
  • Understanding of hauliers and trade lanes.
  • Organisation and prioritisation skills.
