Alder Hey Children's Hospital cares for over 330,000 children, young people, and their families every year.

As one of Europe's biggest and busiest children's hospitals, we treat everything from common illnesses to highly complex and specialist conditions.

In addition to our main hospital site, we offer paediatric services at a number of community sites and hold local clinics across Merseyside, Cumbria, Shropshire, Wales, and the Isle of Man.

We also provide specialist inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Alder Park Building in North Liverpool.


What you'll be responsible for:


  • You will be involved in retrieval, transportation, archiving, preparation, indexing, scanning and quality assurance of health records
  • Supporting the digitisation of the paperbased records into the Trust Electronic Document Systems (EDMS), Hyland Onbase and EMIS in line with departmental procedures.

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:


  • Excellent communication skills
- both verbal and written

  • Microsoft office skills
  • Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Previous admin/ reception experience
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Time management skills
  • NHS System Knowledge
  • PAS, EDMS, EPR (desirable)
  • Previous health records experience (desirable)
