  • The Student Engagement and Retention Lead will deliver impactful initiatives that support student continuation and student success. Reporting to the Director of Student Success, the postholder will lead a team to work in a coordinated way with academic teams, personal tutors and other stakeholders to maximise student engagement and retention. The postholder will have a strong ability to work with data analytics and identify actions that drive improvement in student outcomes. The postholder will also create delivery mechanisms to embed key strategic priorities in the culture of the organisation. The Student Engagement and Retention Lead will also support the Office of the Dean of Students as part of annual NSS/PTES campaigns.

Job Purpose:


  • The Student Engagement and Retention Lead leads data-driven activities to develop and ensure the delivery of effective and timely interventions for all students at risk of non-continuation. Your primary focus is to identify students 'at risk 'and for developing personalised plans to support them to progress with their studies.
  • In this role you will lead a small team who will signpost and support learners. You will provide a business partner service to the Academic Schools and other professional services; to meet the University's ambitious targets relating to student retention ensuring
- _all _students are supported to complete their studies and to achieve the very best possible outcomes. Working across the Directorate for Student Success, the Student Engagement & Retention Lead plays a key role in supporting the University's ambitious targets relating to student retention ensuring

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the role:


  • Accountable for identifying students 'at risk 'and for developing personalised plans to support them to progress with their studies.
  • Use learner analytics and other data to identify students at risk and lead your team to implement strategies to support to them in their studies.
  • Provide daytoday management and leadership of a small team of case workers.
  • To produce routine and annual reports on the activities undertaken by the team including setting and monitoring achievement of goals
