The University of Edinburgh Business School (UEBS) MBA Team seeks to appoint to the newly created role of MBA Careers Consultant.

This critical role will contribute directly to the UEBS MBA employability strategy by delivering professional, impartial careers management support to MBA students (i.e. Full-time MBAs, Executive MBAs and Online MBAs) enabling them to make a successful transition to their chosen career path.


The Opportunity:


In this role, you will provide one-to-one careers advice, information and guidance to MBA students and alumni drawing on your experience of working with senior industry professionals and relevant career development tools and models.

Your advice will help our students to focus their career plans and evaluate their skills and strengths in relation to the job market.


You will leverage your previous experience directly to help inform the design and delivery of a programme of employability-focused activities and projects aimed at enabling our MBA students to develop the skills required to secure high quality, MBA level employment following graduation.

Critical to the success of this role, will be your ability to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with key stakeholders within the Business School.


To succeed in the post, you will currently be operating within a dynamic organisational environment (such as executive recruitment, consultancy, and career planning or organisational development) and be able to demonstrate proven skills in advising senior industry professionals.

Experience of providing careers guidance gained within the Higher Education professional development environment will be highly beneficial.

  • Excellent project management and organisational skills to ensure activities/projects for a range of stakeholders are delivered to a high standard and to meet deadlines.
