Description

Scope the current provision across the boroughs relating to perinatal and infant mental health (PIMH) and provide an analysis of any gaps in service or practice.

To act as a role model demonstrating highly specialist knowledge in health visiting practice as the HIA lead for PIMH, that is underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant practice experience.

To identify, prioritise and implement programmes of care that meets the public health needs of the population for the defined High Impact Area of maternal mental health.

Plan, organise, evaluate and where appropriate, delegate to other members of the Health Visiting team to ensure delivery of a high quality service.


To ensure provision associated with the HIA attends to the needs of children identified as at risk and / or with complex needs, taking appropriate action when required.

To maintain links and work closely with the Safeguarding Team. To have an innovative approach to practice in response to changing service needs and priorities. Acting as a change agent and facilitating the change process.
