Your New Role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Technical Administrator to join our Highways England account in Weston-super-Mare. This role is based on-site at North Somerset Magistrates Court.


The salary is £22,035 per annum


Amey delivers total facilities and estate management services, including planned and reactive maintenance works, cleaning, project and asset management across Highways England's extensive and growing operational estate.


We work in partnership with our client, Highway England staff, building users and their supply chain partners to ensure the 24/7 service we provide is delivered to the highest standard with minimum impact or disruption to day-to-day operational requirements that keeps one of the busiest road networks in Europe safe for the people and businesses who rely on it every day.


The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

You will be responsible for:


  • Undertaking general 'team' administrative duties.
  • Maintaining office systems in an orderly manner.
  • Taking direction from the Site Manager and wider team members.
  • Receiving and disseminating information to other team members to ensure service delivery.
  • Assisting with the delivery of services to the client using a case management system.
  • Inputting to and maintaining spread sheets/databases/systems and produce and collate reports.
  • Raising purchase orders and arranging payment of invoices.
  • Reception duties where appropriated/required.
  • Undertaking other basic business support duties as part of a team.
  • Role is both planned and reactive and takes direction from team members.
  • Processing and handling confidential information with discretion.

What makes this role unique?:


You will provide administrative support to the Manager and team members at the site, ensuring they have complete visibility of requirements and compliance needs.


We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Education to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Experience/use of MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Able to develop and maintain good working relationships.
  • Previous experience of working in a generalist administration/business support role.
  • Friendly and professional manner.
  • Conscientious and confident approach to duties with a helpful attitude.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Enthusiastic and able to act with initiative.
Ideally you have experience of working in a generalist administration/business support role.


In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have strong IT skills and experience working with Microsoft Office package to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required training.
