Description

The post holder is expected to undertake independent clinical assessments, develop and deliver treatment plans in collaboration with patients and other members of the MDTs, and provide a range of treatments for patients.

The post holder needs to pay close attention to detail in the management of patients.

Good organisational skills are an essential requirement for the post and this will entail close liaison with clinical and administrative staff to ensure that patients are kept fully informed with adequate notice of planned appointments and treatments.


  • Working safely in the management of neurological conditions, seeking advice where necessary from peers and colleagues
  • Being able to identify when further investigation or other opinion is appropriate and when it is not.
  • Taking an active role within the interdisciplinary team in discussing patients' clinical management
  • Holding clinics and efficient administration, including timely clinic letter production
  • Maintaining accurate records at all times
  • Giving ample notice for any periods of absence to those to whom the post holder is professionally and managerially accountable to
  • Working with all members of staff in a respectful and collaborative manner and communicating effectively to ensure safe and smooth delivery of patient care
  • Being well versed in the Trust's formal complaints procedure and helping to resolve and document initial informal complaints, feeding back to and consulting with relevant managers for formal complaints

We are dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of many complex illnesses. UCLH specialises in women's health and the treatment of cancer, infection, neurological, gastrointestinal and oral disease. It has world class support services including critical care, imaging, nuclear medicine and pathology.


Key Clinical roles:


  • An alternate week general neurology clinic (3 New, 7 FU's)
  • Alternate week Intrathecal baclofen daycase refill and review list (4 daycases)
  • Twice Weekly Spasticity/ Cerebral palsy clinic (6 generalised (2New, 2 FU), 2 focal (2 New, 3FU) per month)
  • Alternate week focal daycase list (1-2 FU)
  • Management of inpatients
- general neurology and spasticity (1/mth)

  • Weekly Uroneurology clinic (4 New, 4 FU) and weekly supervision of pelvic neurophysiology clinic (3 FU)
  • Pelvic neurophysiology clinic (2 FU) - 1/month

The post holder will be expected to:

  • Work with the Spasticity and Uroneurology Service Leads to manage the waiting list for the services
  • Work with the teams and colleagues across the Trust to ensure an appropriate high standard of patient care and satisfaction
  • Promote the high standards and reputation of the service within the Trust, Nationally and Internationally.
  • Support NHNN services to maintain the department's key position as a nationally recognised centre of excellence.
  • Behave in a professional manner at all times
