Tempting Recruitment are working on behalf of our client, a

local authority in the

Greater London region, to recruit experienced

Animal Welfare Assistant. If you are looking to increase your earnings for the year,

Contract: 2-3 months (possible extension)

Salary:
£21 p/h umbrella

Start Date:
ASAP

Shift Pattern: 36 hours per week /

Monday - Friday / 8am-4pm
**HYBRID WORKING AVAILABLE

DUTIES

Participle in the stray dog collection service including being available out of hours and in locations other than Islington.
To work shifts and weekends as part of a rota to cover the duties of any internal service demands or external contracts as necessary.
To achieve agreed service outcomes and outputs, and personal appraisal targets, as agreed by the line manager.
To undertake training and constructively take part in meetings, supervision, seminars, and other events.
To be committed to the Council's core values of public service, quality, equality, and empowerment and to demonstrate this commitment in the way duties are carried out.
To administer animal welfare legislation, advise on animal welfare matters and promote wellbeing, safety, and health of animals through education and publicity.
Participate in training and promotional activities
Drive a Council vehicle
Receive and record payments

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
At least 2 years' experience within an Animal Welfare Assistant role or equivalent.
Experience in the animal welfare field.
Good knowledge and understanding of best practice and current issues in animal welfare.
Understanding of the legislation relating to animal welfare, licensing, and registration.
