On the look out for a brand new part-time job with satisfaction you'd struggle to find anywhere else? You're in luck as we're now on the lookout for new colleagues to join our #TeamNLCS in the Motherwell and Wishaw area

We have permanent contracts for 20-30 hours per week and relief opportunities too if you're looking for something a bit more flexible.

The Role

You'll play a HUGE part in making a difference in the lives of young people and adults with disabilities and additional support needs in the
Motherwell and
Wishaw communities.

For these particular opportunities, the majority of your time will be spent out in the community providing support to a variety of the people we support's interests and activities.

No two days are ever the same, you'll find yourself getting involved in activity clubs, swimming, going to the gym, bowling, cinema and the pub.

Some of the individuals are also at college, so you will support them to attend their courses.

Some of the people we support also need some help with daily living tasks too which will involve support to appointments, shopping, meal planning, cooking housework, finances, medication and personal care.

About you

We recruit on values and transferrable skills, so you don't need previous experience in care as a Support Worker or qualifications to start your career with us. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the skills you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualifications and your yearly SSSC registration fees

All we'll need you to bring is: -

  • A caring and compassionate attitude
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
  • The ability to cook
  • Confidence in the use of computers

Shift Patterns

We understand that our colleagues like to have a good work/life balance, so we try to be as flexible as possible with our shift patterns.

Our team currently deliver support between the hours of hours, 7 days a week.

Weekends and public holidays would form part of your rota on a rotational basis, but we aim to only have you working every second weekend.

Shift length can be anything between 4 and 8 hours, depending on what suits you and the person you will be supporting.

If you're successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration.

We will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
