There is an exciting opportunity to join our administrative and support services team as a Lead Medical Secretary.

The post holder will be expected to lead and support the medical secretary team.

This will include managing team resources, planning for cover and providing support to the team in terms of efficiency and development.


The post holder will also provide secretarial support to the Hospital Medical Director and Associate Medical Director and administrative support to a hospital ward, particularly the medical team.

This will regularly include typing, minute taking, receiving telephone enquiries, diary and appointment management, managing correspondence, meeting and greeting visitors and other administrative tasks as appropriate.


The post holder will be required to be proficient in the use of electronic patient record keeping systems, and be able to store and upload, copy, and file records in line with policy and local procedures.

They will be required to maintain all standards pertaining to confidentiality and Information Governance in accordance with Company Policies.


The post holder will report directly to the HR People Lead and be expected to work effectively with colleagues across all departments with a strong focus on the success of the hospital.


About You:
Educated to GCSE (Grades A-C) or equivelent standard

Excellent computer and Microsoft office skills and can audio-type

Passionate about providing a high quality service to the hospital

Experience of diary management and minute taking

Good attention to detail and be able to maintain accuracy

Experience within a clinical administrative role

An understanding of mental health/medical terminology is desirable

Experience of working within a team and sharing workload to ensure the department runs effectively

Work within existing procedures and processes, however, there will occasionally be the need for more adaptive thinking, particularly when dealing with patients and their families
