THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity is available within the SGN Network Directorate for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to develop and project manage gas entry connections from inception through to final gas to grid.
The role provides exposure to the biomethane industry and the emerging hydrogen blending / hydrogen 100% future with interactions with the SGN H100 project and planned 20% hydrogen blending transition.
The role also provides an ideal opportunity for an individual interested in developing their skills in the renewables sector and learning about the whole gas industry including aspects of government regulation, project financing requirements, technical requirementsincluding gas quality and safety compliance.
The role will require the individual to develop gas entry connections, which are primarily concentrated in the biomethane sector, from initial customer contact through to final gas to grid.
The role also includes liaising with project operators post commissioningto ensure full compliance with SGN's range of policies and procedures.
The role will provide a valuable opportunity for an individual to gain experience with legal / commercial contracts, biomethane industry requirements, technical solutions to drive forward the maximum volume of green gas in the SGN network.
Responsibilities will include;
- Taking responsibility for gas entry project management for the regulated business to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Developing projects with customers to meet their requirements and ensuring SGN policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Developing bespoke solutions to meet customer requirements and liaising with the wider SGN business to ensure internal and external stakeholder support.
- Liaising with other gas distribution network operators to develop technical solutions to industry requirements and also to ensure the gas entry processes remain economic and efficient to meet industry requirements.
- Performance management ensuring SGN meet standards of service for gas entry connections for our customers.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
The individual must be highly motivated and have an interest in the renewable gas sector with a view to meeting SGN ambitions to maximise the volumes injected into the network.
The individual must have the ability to work smartly and be highly organised in their approach to meeting tight customer deadlines and requirements.
We're also looking for;
- Highly organised individual who can think on their feet and demonstrate lateral thinking to solve complex contractual and technical issues.
- Must have the ability to work flexibly towards delivering objectives and customer requirements. Experience with commercial and legal contracts would be beneficial but not essential.
- Some technical knowledge of the biomethane industry would be advantageous but not essential. General knowledge and experience of the gas industry regulatory environment would also be advantageous but not essential.
