The Opportunity

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy.

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support.

The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024.

When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Planner to join our successful team at SZC.

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home.

We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.


The Role


The Project Planner role will work with the Planning Lead and the SZC wider teams and take responsibility for developing, coordinating and monitoring the project programme and controls for an area of the works leading up to J0 (casting of the common raft slab).


You'll act as a key member of the team to deliver the civil works and will provide both detailed and strategic inputs for time related matters.


You'll develop and agree by collaboration a logical sequence and methodology ensuring that the most economical / advantageous construction strategy is adopted.


The Skills


You'll bring your proven understanding in the production and management of Construction Programmes gained in a civil engineering/ Infrastructure environment, Preferably on medium to large scale infrastructure civil projects.


You'll ideally have previous experience in the planning more than one of the key disciplines, -Highways, Rail, Utilities, Site Establishment, Earthworks, Piling.

Having previous experience with Primavera P6 planning software would be beneficial.

You'll have previous experience in successfully engaging and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
