Temporary Customer Support Officer (Admin & Clerical)

Pay Rate:
£10.54

per hour PAYE

  • Take a flexible approach to meeting the customer needs, finding solutions which meet those needs.
  • Listen and act on what matters to the customer.
  • Provide the right level of accurate advice and support to meet the needs of customers.
  • Actively seek out and listen to the needs of the customer and use this to identify demand in context.
  • Ensure the correct information is taken to effectively hand the customer over to a specialist officer, where it is necessary to do so.
  • Sensitively discuss customers problems, understanding the complexity of those problems and help them to find solutions from a variety of resources, including other officers, partners organisations and third sector providers.
  • Handle monies due to the client including reconciliation of payments and preparation of banking in accordance with the financial procedures.
  • Undertake any administration tasks required in providing an efficient service.
  • Collect demand data and statistics where required, and support management in analysis of the data.
  • Attend to any duties that may be required in assisting with the security of the building e.g., operating/testing panic alarms, carry out fire marshal/warden responsibilities.

  • To have or be prepared to work towards an NVQ Level 3 in customer service or equivalent workplace experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of service providers and resources in the local community.

Experience:


  • Experience in a proactive, customer focused service.
  • Experience, knowledge, and ability to use modern ICT systems.
  • Working experience of system thinking approaches and techniques.

Skills/Technical skills:

  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with customers, senior managers, officers both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work as a team to provide a highquality service for the customer.
  • Ability to collate and present information accurately, clearly, and concisely.
  • Ability to solve problems/issues, using own initiative.
  • Ability to deal with unexpected situations.
  • Ability to demonstrate commitment to high quality and customer driven service provision.
  • Flexible and adaptable and work under pressure.
  • Demonstrate key customer service behaviours.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Excellent active listening skills.
  • Able to deal with customers and colleagues tactfully and sensitively.

Unless otherwise stated (we do carry the occasional permanent vacancy) all of our roles are technically temporary, though opening assignments can be and often are, extended by clients on a longer term basis and can sometimes become permanent.
