The Role & Responsibilities
Work with both the Enterprise and Consumer Heads of Financial Crime in 1LOD.

The Financial Crime Controls Manager will provide oversight and assurance on the banks' Financial Crime processes and controls, through the management of Issues, Risk Events, Controlsand Change within the bank.

The Financial Crime Controls Manager be responsible for measuring the controls effectiveness and ensure compliance with the Financial Crime Customer Due Diligence Standards, Transaction Monitoring Standards, and relevant FC policieswithin the Financial Crime Framework.


  • Support with the implementation of Financial Crime policies and standards
  • Oversight of the execution of the written reports on reviews undertaken and report findings and recommendations to the Enterprise/Consumer Risk Committees agree required remediation actions and followup on progress to ensure items are closed. Maintainan accessible and transparent audit trail of activities and reviews
  • Responsible for the change management activities for the 1LOD FC teams (including liaison IT for changes in the FC systems, communication and training of new processes, changes in procedures, etc.)
  • Provide advice and guidance on activities and controls requiring improvement as well as any associated resourcing and training needs
  • Support the Risk and Control Self-Assessment review and reporting process
  • Input to the development, review and maintenance of the Financial Crime Framework and the FC Oversight Programme
  • Produce and monitor outputs from Financial Crime reports to inform on trends and areas for assurance checking

Capabilities

  • Financial Crime knowledge, CDD/EDD and transaction monitoring and/or payment screening
  • Sound knowledge of assurance processes and gap analysis
  • Ability to translate findings into constructive solutions
  • Ability to produce meaningful, concise reports at committee level
  • Excellent customer service, presentation, and negotiation skills with both internal and external parties
  • High level of Computer proficiency (good knowledge of MS Office suite
  • Excel, Word, Power-Point, with relevant analytical software)
  • Good understanding of risk and riskrelated concepts
  • Be familiar with key risk indicators, linking these to risks and controls

Experience

  • Must have:
  • Background in Control Testing and Change Management in Financial Crime.
  • Be familiar with Financial Crime Risk Self Assessments (FCRSA), Controls Management, Risk Events & being responsible for the delivery of Issues & Action Plans
  • At least 5 years' experience in the Financial Crime

Desirable

  • Audit, assurance (2LOD), risk consultancy would be an advantage.
  • ICA Diploma
