Description

Redefine
your personal best...
This is an exciting opportunity to join a global consultancy that is expanding rapidly throughout the UK.

You will work within professional and collaborative teams all with the same aim of delivering world-class solutions for our clients and the communities around us.

On a personal level, you will learn and develop, and will have the support to aid your career progression and increase your job satisfaction.

We're looking to build our already successful Infrastructure and Buildings team in the UK and bring in emerging talent to expand our Environmental Lighting Team preferably from our Reading or Oxford office on a full-time basis.

As a member of our team, you will report to the Environmental Lighting Team Lead, both supporting on projects and taking ownership on assessments and designs with their support and guidance.

You will work with multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects, initially focussing on Lighting Impact Assessments across a variety of markets and sectors.

There is growing potential for Lighting Design projects, both in offering solutions to schemes as part of the planning and assessment process, as well as on other projects across all design stages.

This forms part of Stantec's "Designing with community in mind" that looks at both the here and now as well as long term implications of each design as we strive towards sustainable built environment.

While lighting is a specialist field, it can be a very broad discipline.

This role offers the chance to specialise and become an expert in lighting in the context of the planning process, with exposure to the interrelated environmental and planning disciplines and broader lighting teams.

We offer many benefits including a competitive package, a strong culture of learning and development, and a great environment to work in.

As we look to further diversify and grow our wider Stantec UK Environmental Services business you will potentially be presented with future opportunities across our diversified business lines to further your career.

About You

A person with a passion for light and how we use it to enhance human's relationship with the night whilst minimising the negative effects to the surroundings.

Lighting within the built environment is rarely something people set out to enter, if that is you great, equally if lighting is something you've discovered along the way and wish to make your primary focus then this role offers that opportunity.

The field of lighting benefits from the experience brought in from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds, architecture, electrical engineering, theatre, product design, highways as examples.

An understanding of the fundamentals of light and experience of collaborative processes is essential. Experience of Lighting Impact Assessments and the planning process is desirable but not mandatory.

An inquisitive and adaptable mindset with desire to learn. Comfortable with the technical and performance-based aspects of lighting alongside the creative and experienced elements.
