About This Role:


Alliance Medical Radiopharmacy Ltd, part of the Life Healthcare Group, provide radiopharmaceuticals to imaging centres in all regions of the UK from a national network of facilities.

The manufacturing facility based in Dinnington is designed around a twin cyclotron set up and contains the first ever TR-24 cyclotron to be installed in the UK.


We have an exciting opportunity for an operator to join our team of technicians at our licenced facility in Dinnington, South Yorkshire.

Reporting to the site engineering manager, you will be directly involved in the operation and maintenance of our cyclotrons and supporting plant for the production radiopharmaceuticals.


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out daytoday Operation of the cyclotrons for manufacture of radioisotopes under Good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance in line with established procedures.
  • Ensure rapid response on all machinery breakdowns, fault finding and implement correction.
  • Capture and record all maintenance work completed.
  • Capture and record all required KPI information.
  • Prepare purchase orders and maintain inventory for your area of responsibility
  • Assist as required in establishing and developing procedures and documentation under direction from the engineering manager
  • Collaborate with other departments and facilities (potential to travel)
  • Undertake and complete in a timely manner assigned tasks and activities
  • Work alongside external contractors as and when required
  • Assist in building maintenance activities.
  • Attend training courses as required by the company to carry out your duties.
  • Will involve regular shift work (nights and days)

Skills Required:


  • Will hold a degree or diploma in engineering, electronic or mechanical technology from a recognized technical institute, or equivalent training, for example through military service or apprenticeship.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment operating and maintaining equipment
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and can prioritize effectively to support own workload and that of the team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures and instructions
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability and means to travel as shift work will cross nights when public transport is less available
