Description

Under supervision the post holder will manage a caseload and provide a range of high-quality care appropriate to the child or young person's needs which will include; mental state assessment, risk assessment and management, family and social assessment, consultation and low intensity CBT informed evidence based interventions.

The post holder will have a range of skills and knowledge base to deliver care in a multi-disciplinary team setting.


You must have a recognised qualification as: Education Mental Health/Childrens Wellbeing Practitioner as part of the Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies Programme, Registered Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, School Nurse or Speech & Language Therapist and be eligible for or registered and accredited with a professional body such as BABCP.

Proven experience of working effectively with young people with mental health difficulties.

Experience of delivering low intensity interventions in school and education environments as part of IAPT training.


Experience of assessing and managing risk: including safeguarding.

Experience of gathering clinical evidence, reports and information as part of signposting to other internal or external pathways.

Experience of providing evidenced based assessments, formulations and treatment packages.

Experience of liaison and working with a range of other relevant agencies within a community model.

Experience of caseload management, working within a multi-disciplinary mental health setting.

Up to date knowledge of child mental health and relevant legislation.

Understanding of evidence based practice and the ability to demonstrate how this influences clinical practice.

The ability to assess, formulate and manage care appropriately, ensuring discharge is timely and planned.


The ability to use assessment tools and outcome measures effectively and in collaboration with the child, young person and family.
