Overview:
This new role is responsible for leading the Social Security Scotland Architecture and Design Governance function.

Key responsibilities of the role include;

  • Enabling end to end architecture and design governance
  • Owning the pathway to Architecture and Design Governance
  • Standardisation of the Architecture and Design processes
  • Alignment of Architecture/Technical governance to Financial and Change governance processes
  • Directing and supporting a team of senior architects
  • Managing senior stakeholders across the business (both in Social Security Scotland, and within the Social Security directorate).
The role reports directly to the Chief Architect.

The Agency is currently experiencing rapid growth and this post will contribute to the design, development and continual improvement of devolved benefits and their supporting finance, fraud, error and debt and corporate services, including people services, delivering significant impact across the units and organisation.


You would become part of a small core team of Lead Architects helping to describe, and ensure the conformance of products and services to agreed architectural principles and patterns.

DDaT Pay Supplement


This post attracts a £5000 Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) pay supplement after a 3 months DDaT competency qualifying period.

The payment will be backdated to your start date in the role.

Flexible and Hybrid Working


Our current way of working is by a hybrid working approach, where colleagues will be expected to use a mix of office based and remote working (working from home) depending on the requirements of the role.

Base office location can be in either Dundee or Glasgow.


Responsibilities:


Main Duties

  • Architecture & Strategic Planning, responsible for providing clear strategy and Vision, along with supporting roadmaps for all domains
  • Architecture & Design Governance, responsible for providing leadership for Architecture and Design Governance, owns the Architecture
  • Board, Enterprise Solution Design Authority and Portfolio Planning
  • Project/Programme Governance, works with Programme/Project to ensure design adherence to our agreed strategy and Architecture/Policy's and principles

Additional Duties

  • Standardisation of architectural and design processes, including architecture and design documentation and templates
  • Act as the architecture and design governance authority in information gathering and scene setting with stakeholders and managers.
  • Provide a domain assurance function in support of Social Security governance activities based on rigorously defined and tested principles and standards.

ontribute to the development of Social Security CDO Architectural strategies.

  • Build and maintain a deep understanding of Social Security Scotland's business strategy, and leverage that understanding to identify suitable solution and technology options, and the roadmaps for their implementation.
