About the role

The position is a Zero Hours Contract helping to assist the Canteen Supervisor with the provision of high quality canteen and catering services on the Wollaston site (Works Canteen and Commonwealth Centre), on an ad-hoc basis.

Key responsibilities
Ensuring all relevant health regulations, HSE and company policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Undertake basic preparation of food and cooking for daily breakfasts and lunches, in addition to ad hoc catering requests (buffets/special functions etc), ensuring food handling/safety regulations and all relevant HSE and company processes are adhered to at all times.

Deliver a high standard of customer service to customers and demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic and flexible attitude towards customers and other team members at all times.

Serve meals, snacks and drinks to canteen customers, ensuring correct portion control.

Assist the Canteen Supervisor with the effective financial management of the canteen by taking payments for orders and processing vending machine sales accurately and efficiently.

Assist with cleaning the kitchen and dining areas and equipment - i.e.

floors, walls, surfaces, cooking and serving utensils - and ensure that consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained at all times.

Prepare the kitchen, dining area and furniture according to daily requirements.

Provide assistance with any special function catering and any other catering services undertaken.

About you

The salary for the position will be £10.90 per hour.
