This post presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join the Diabetes Service at RAH/Clyde sector.

You will be the senior DSN with line management responsibility for the unit MDT


You will be responsible for the assessment, implementation and evaluation of care and education for individuals with diabetes as well as where appropriate providing support to their carers and families.


You will provide expert specialist care to meet the initial and ongoing needs of adults with diabetes, delivering nurse led services to specific target groups and will guide and support other members of the multi-disciplinary team.


You will be expected to undertake nurse led patient management with an ability to demonstrated confident autonomous decision making as well as an ability to work as part of a team.


The post holder will contribute to the development of guidelines and protocols locally and Board wide and provide evidence based specialist intervention, education and training programs for patients, health care professionals and other relative agencies.


You will be part of a wider Clyde Diabetes Specialist team with some cross site working within the Sector possible.


You should have previous Diabetes Specialist Nurse experience at Band 6 and you will be expected to have excellent clinical, communication and time management skills.

DAFNE Educator status desirable

Car driver essential

The shift pattern is Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm
