An exciting opportunity has now arisen within our

Pastoral Team:

Governors are seeking to appoint Pastoral Support Mentors to provide particular support to targeted pupils to raise achievement and attendance and help them overcome barriers to learning.

Our Lady's Catholic High School is a highly successful oversubscribed 11-16 mixed High School of 900 pupils serving mainly the Catholic community in the north of Preston.

We have an excellent reputation and are consistently ranked as a high performing school.

We place an emphasis on helping each child reach their full potential and provide a safe, loving environment where our pupils can grow and develop to become One of Ours.

This position is part time, term time only with working hours of 9.00am to 3.30 pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 9.00am to 2.30pm on a Tuesday.

The salary quoted is full time equivalent but the actual salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis: This will be between £13,891 and £15,628 per annum (pay award pending).

Essential Qualifications

5 GCSEs A* to C including Maths and English (or equivalent)

Desirable Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 or above qualification appropriate to the post

Essential Experience

Experience of working with or caring for children of relevant age

Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour

Desirable Experience

Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environment

Experience of administrative work
