Description

TENTERDEN GRAPE PICKING

This is a fabulous and extremely enjoyable role where we have many people returning to fulfil the harvest year upon year.

Our client also offers an exclusive collection of benefits to all those who complete the harvest with 100% attendance, the benefits are:

a branded baseball cap to wear during the harvest, an end of harvest celebratory lunch, discounts on wine products (*terms apply) and a vineyard tour for 2.

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people from your local community, it is great for exercise, mental health and well being and working in the most breath-taking surroundings.

We are currently recruiting for grape pickers for the end of September/early October for a period of approximately 2-3 weeks.

The Grape picking role

No experience necessary - this role will involve walking down the vines, working as part of a team, snipping off bunches of grapes using the snippers supplied and placing the bunches into the crates on the floor positioned below the vines - someone will come and empty the crates as they get full.

This role will involve lots and lots of walking (on average 6-10 miles per day) therefore you will be required to be physically fit and able, it will also involve working come rain or shine so a waterproof jacket is essential to have to hand along with wellies and/or comfortable hardy waterproof walking boots.

This work is weather permitting, if the forecast shows heavy rain that will continue all day, then they will delay the harvest until the following day therefore a level of flexibility is required.

This is a great experience where we have many people returning year upon year, it's a wonderful atmosphere where you are surrounded by breath-taking views.

To reach the vineyard you will need your own transport due to their rural location.

£10.42 per hour - payment will be made at the end of the 2-3-week assignment unless otherwise arranged.

Hours: 8am till 4.30/5pm Monday to Saturday (weather dependent) Should the harvest be called off due to bad weather during the week they may run a harvest over the weekend to make up the lost days during the week, therefore flexibility is required and appreciated for this 2-3-week assignment.

We do require 100% attendance as there is only a small window of 2-3 weeks that the vineyards are able to pick in, so we really do require you full attendance for the duration of the assignment.
