Our client is a traditional family run garden centre, passed down through 3 generations and are renowned for offering an excellent range of quality plants at exceptional value, with many plants grown on site.

They stock a vast range of products for all their customer gardening needs, supplied by a dedicated knowledgeable team of staff.

Our client is now seeking a Plantarea Supervisor to join the team and to manage the day-to-day running of the plantarea.

Previous experience working in a garden centre or similar retail environment is essential. If you are passionate about plants, outgoing and dedicated this could be the opportunity for you


Main Responsibilities


They are now seeking an experienced Plantarea Supervisor with the ability to manage the day-to-day running of the plant area and deputise for the centre in the absence of the manager.

The plant area supervisor will work with the owner and manager in the sourcing and purchasing of plant products and will successfully manage the department to increase profitability and to continue building on the company's reputation for stocking excellent quality plants and offering a high level of customer care.


  • Supervising the Plantarea and staff
  • Working with Owner & Manager with ordering stock for the department
  • Stock Management and processing deliveries
  • Merchandising within the department and implementing seasonal promotions
  • Demonstrating excellent Customer Service at all times
  • Key Holder responsibilities

Key Skills:


The appointed person will have already gained experience in a busy retail or horticultural environment and will be aware of the importance of keeping stock well presented, merchandised effectively and in excellent condition.


  • Have a good understanding of EPOS systems.
  • Hold great people management skills.
  • Must have a friendly personability with excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be willing to drive a fork lift.
  • Ideally hold PA1 & PA6 sprayers
  • Must hold a full drivers licence
  • Previous experience in a garden centre or nursery background is desirable.

This is a full time, permanent role working 5 days per week.

Salary:
Up to £27,000.00 per year
