We have a strong track record of successfully delivering government funded initiatives and contracts including ESF contracts and Study Programmes. We are also a provider of advice and support services to young people and adults in the Yorkshire and Humber area.


SENCO

£35,000 - £39,000 - dependent on qualifications and experience

This is a permanent, full-time position:

  • 37

hrs per week (Job share will be considered)

Based in Bradford
An opportunity has arisen for a

SENCO, within our Learning Team reporting to the Director of Learning, who will be responsible for line management.

The main objectives of the role are:

  • Liaise with the different local authorities to ensure EHCP funding allocations are accurate and is received.
  • Deal with consultations received from the various local authorities the Opportunity Centres cover to ascertain if we can meet need and respond timely and appropriately.
  • Plan, arrange and carry out EHCP reviews and Personal Education Plans (PEPs) in a timely manner, updating learners EHC plans.
  • Set up internal systems and processes to manage and track EHCP learners across the Opportunity Centres
  • To ensure needs assessment forms and risk assessments exist within every Opportunity Centre, where needed.
  • To support Learning Support practitioners in their professional development (CPD) and ensure quality support is provided to learners in lessons.
  • Support tutors and Learning Support staff with new teaching and learning interventions that can help a learner progress and achieve.

You must have the experience/knowledge identified below:

  • Successful track record of working with hard-to-reach young people with an EHCP.
  • Experience in coordinating and carrying out EHCP and PEP reviews.
  • Track record of engaging with parents/carers/ learning providers and referral agencies to refer young people with an EHCP.
  • Knowledge of funding methodology for EHCP
  • Knowledge of the process of an EHCP assessment

You must have the qualifications identified below:

  • Teaching qualification
  • SENCO qualification or working towards
  • Qualifications to A level standard
  • Maths and English C or above
