Head of Risk & Compliance

Leeds/Hybrid


LHH Recruitment Solutions (formerly Badenoch & Clark) is partnered with a leading law firm on their search for a Head of Risk and Compliance.


The Head of Risk and Compliance will provide leadership, strategic direction and oversight of all Risk and Compliance aspects of the Firm's current and proposed business activities.

You will be responsible for the development and management of the Firm'sRisk and Compliance function; and for ensuring the Firm is aware of and has appropriate procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, accreditation and legal requirements.


In this highly regulated environment, key stakeholders will include the Chair of the Risk Board, COLP, COFA, Money Laundering Compliance team, and of the course the Managing Partner/Senior Management Team.

It goes without saying, the post holder will berequired to deal with confidential and sensitive information and projects on a daily basis.

We require an experienced individual with proven leadership and stakeholder management experience at a senior level. You will be a strong influencer, with the ability to communicate effectively and commercially. Legal sector or other highly regulated professionalservices sector experience would be preferred.


The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate Risk and Compliance policies and procedures - previous experience of this would be advantageous.


Expert knowledge in the following is required:

  • Anti-money laundering legislation
  • SRA standards and regulations
  • ISO 9001 and 1400
  • GDPR and Date Subject Access Request
  • Producing and testing Business Continuity Plans
  • Preparing reports to Risk Board and/or Management Board with recommendations around mitigation of Risk
This is a significant role within the organisation, offering a competitive salary and benefits package. Hybrid working is standard practice. There may be some adhoc travel requested to the other office locations listed.
