Kenneth Brian Associates are proud to be partnering with a not for profit organisation based in Burgess Hill, in their search for an experienced Finance Manager.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Finance Managerto work within a growing business.

The company is at an exciting stage of its development and growth, taking in a number of new companies every year; with the potential for 36 entities in total.


Key duties:


  • To support Senior Managers and internal finance teams (where they exist) in the effective operation of their financial responsibilities
  • To undertake various tasks as part of the monthly reporting cycle including, but not limited to, carrying out balance sheet reconciliations and producing draft management reports
  • To support the annual audit process.
  • We are considering centralising the processing of purchase invoices. If we do this, the role would be expected to line manage the purchase ledger clerk in undertaking this task.
  • Work with the internal Managers to ensure that they complete their financial tasks as part of the monthly cycle on a timely basis
  • Manage the Fixed Asset Register to ensure timely and accurate recording of additions and depreciation and reconciliation to Access finance
  • Undertake monthly VAT claims and advise on their VAT obligations
  • Produce first draft management accounts.
  • Respond to comments from CFO to produce final accounts.
  • Posting of payroll journals.
  • Reconciliation of trade creditors and debtor control accounts
  • Reconciliation of VAT account
  • Working with the CFO on budgets and forecasts
  • Entering purchase and sales ledger invoices, chasing aged debts, and ensuring prompt payment of creditors
  • Recording and checking payroll data
  • Entering of credit card journals
  • Undertaking bank reconciliation
  • Checking draft management accounts and producing commentary on central team financial performance.

Annual audit and other tasks

  • The role will be the principle point of contact with the external auditors during their fieldwork and will take responsibility for ensuring that the annual audit runs smoothly.
  • The role will also support the CFO in producing the budget and financial returns.

7 weeks annual leave per year:

  • Core working hours are usually agreed between 8.00am and 5pm, however the post holder may be required to work outside of normal working hours on occasion, with due notice.
