Working closely with the CTO you will ensure a consistent, transparent and efficient approach to the way the IT department within the organisation operates and delivers value to the business.

The function will be independent of the larger IT teams and maintain animpartial, cross-enterprise perspective to improve the overall IT operation.


The roles core responsibilities include:

Strategy, Board Communications, IT Marketing and Communication, Regulatory and Company IT Information, Governance and Mode of Operation, Workforce management and Operating Queries.


The post holder must have the ability to bridge communications between IT and its business customers, with a focus on developing an understanding of what the IT organisation and its vendors can deliver and how that can be measured most effectively.


Key Soft Skills Required:

  • Strong evidenced based leadership capability, executing as appropriate in the areas of responsibility
  • The ability to influence, and manage across organisational boundaries understanding political drivers and influencers.
  • Ability to improve operational efficiency, service delivery and information management across the IT department
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others.

Experience and Key Skills:

  • A strong financial services background within a Top 20 consultancy (Big 4 & boutique)
  • Experience of strategy development, drafting operating plans and scorecards.
  • Broad understanding and experience of IT department functions, tasks and modes of operation
  • Experience of driving transformation and delivering change.
  • Insight to the commercial aspects of running IT as a business.
  • Understanding of the financial services regulatory landscape and experience working within regulated entities.
  • Line management experience
  • A degree, ideally in business, engineering or IT.
  • Agile or waterfall frameworks
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) experience
