As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for assessing, developing, and implementing health and safety policies, procedures, and practices across our organisation.

You will work closely with management and employees to foster a culture of safety, providing expert advice and guidance to enhance occupational health and safety practices.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop, implement, and review health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with UK legislation, regulations, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments of work particularly in relation to electrical installations to identify potential hazards and provide recommendations for corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to promote health and safety awareness and create a positive safety culture within the organisation.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on health and safety matters, including hazard identification, emergency procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Investigate and report on incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
  • Stay up to date with changes in health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices, and ensure organisational compliance.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to assess compliance with health and safety standards and report findings to management.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of health and safety training programs, including toolbox talks and workshops.
  • Liaise with external regulatory agencies, contractors, and suppliers to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of health and safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
  • To confidently carry out risk assessments, develop and implement a detailed action plan with safety management systems.
  • Manage and minimise workplace risks.
  • To be able to support and develop the company's health and safety culture and lead on Policy design.
  • To assist in the record keeping and gathering of evidence to support the companies membership of numerous organisations around Health & Safety
  • Provide guidance and direction to the Group specifically in an office environment.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • Affiliate or Technical Member of IOSH / Or meets Technical Standards by means of CPD. Associate Membership of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) or meets the Associate Standards by means of CPD.
