Breakthrough in Education are currently looking to recruit a teaching assistant to provide one-to-one education for students with profound and multiple learning difficulties in a school local to the Carnforth area.
Within this role, you will be working alongside students with PMLD in small classes, building positive relationships with pupils and ensuring progress is made.
The school is equipped with a range of facilities and therapeutic access, to ensure each student's needs are met.Your Role:
Your role within this environment will be to
- Work one to one with students, ensuring they are provided with all the assistance they need to facilitate learning
- Assist at lunch and snack times and provide personal care
- Understand and maintain your safeguarding responsibilities
- Keep the students learning journals up to date
- Ensure the students safety both inside and outside the classroom
The Ideal Applicant:
- Remain empathetic to the needs of the students
- Remain calm and reliable within the role
- Has previous experience with SEND or PMLD
- Has a passion for working in education
- Friendly and approachable to all students, staff and parents
