Location:

Salary:
£40K+


What you'll be doing:


  • Managing activities in support of delivery of the category activity including data management, record keeping, etc
  • Acting as the focal point for the category within an allocated line of business(s) ensuring all actions are discharged in delivery of the service required
  • Managing any contractual changes for the category where required
  • Supporting supplier management activities for the category suppliers
  • Providing adhoc support to all supplier related activities including communications, audits, training and query resolution
  • Providing data reporting to support category management in line with agreed reporting timescales
  • Identifying Procurement savings and opportunities for continuous improvement in the category

Your skills and experiences:


Essential:

  • Proven experience of working in a procurement environment and / or educated to degree or equivalent standard
  • Possess a good standard of procurement competence in key areas of sourcing process knowledge, contracting skills, financial awareness, and supplier management

Desirable:

  • CIPS qualification held (or willing to gain)

The Procurement team:

You will be joining the Infrastructure team primarily focused on Plant and Equipment procurement. Working with our global partners this role will support the Submarines business with indirect requirements.

This is an exciting, fast paced & varied role, providing a unique view of the wider business and engagement with SME's to deliver the UK's continuous at sea deterrent.

There is also potential for training and development opportunities and future roles within wider category management & procurement teams.
