Your new role:


As Assistant Buyer you'll provide and maintain an efficient and effective procurement service to the regional businesses contained within the Robertson Group portfolio and carry out all aspects of the procurement process in accordance with Robertson Group Procurement and Supply Chain Management Strategy, under the guidance and supervision of the Lead Buyer.


What you'll do

:


  • Assist in the preparation of request for proposals and quotations utilising suppliers from the appropriate company Approved Suppliers Database
  • Compilation of data relating to supplier responses, highlighting inconsistences and differences, presenting information and responses in a manor to enable evaluation.
  • Carrying out initial supplier evaluations to establish recommendations for designated procurement exercises
  • Support Procurement team in final negotiations with selected suppliers to enable contract award.
  • Raise Purchase Orders for Materials and Plant Hire requirements in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with sites to assist with the resolution of supply issues as and when required.
  • Work with and advise Project Teams on material specifications and alternatives where appropriate.
  • Provide regular inputs to reports on procurement betterment and supplier performance.
  • Attend regional / sitebased meetings to represent Procurement team
  • Focus on exceeding minimum service expectations by delivering an agile, value adding service with a deep understanding of customer requirements, technical competence, functional knowledge and process efficiency.
  • Investigate and support the resolution of supplier invoice queries.
  • Be aware of the Company's standing on Health, Safety and Environment at all times

What you'll need

:


The role will require someone with excellent analytical and IT skills, with a measured approach to decision making and the ability to adopt a pragmatic, yet disciplined approach to process compliance, is essential.

Qualified to NC, Higher Grade or equivalent.

with an interest in studying towards MCIPS membership is advantageous, as is someone who is willing to go the extra mile to exceed expectations, continually searching for ways to add value and take performance to the next level.
