About the role:


The apprentice will be supporting the creation of Business Intelligence reports from defined business requirements, assisting in the gathering of business requirements, general user support for the Mayborn Business Intelligence community, day to day administrationof data and analytics schedules.


You will need to be customer focused, self-motivated, display strong teamwork and have enthusiasm for the support and implementation of business intelligence or reporting systems, along with a strong desire to develop your skills and knowledge of BI systemsand methodologies.


Based in:
Global HQ, Newcastle Upon Tyne - UK
(Hybrid working with 3 core days in the office Tuesday-Thursday)


Salary:

£20,000 per annum.


Hours:
Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)


Duties:


What you will be doing:


  • Providing a support function, assisting our support department / Data Innovation team in resolving more BI user enquiries
  • Supporting the identification and resolution of data inaccuracies and / or gaps within Mayborn core data
  • Supporting the creation of a centralised knowledgebase for Business Intelligence and data governance, along with supporting its ongoing accuracy
  • Carrying out day to day administration of data management, flows and Business Intelligence processes
  • Supporting the documentation of business and systems requirements to the required level of detail and in an appropriate format
  • Developing data pipelines and data flows based on defined business requirements and definitions
  • Supporting all elements of appropriate packages, troubleshooting issues as they arise, analysing data within the Mayborn BI / Data technology stack, and dashboard creation

What skills and experiences you'll need:

  • A hunger to learn skills in technologies such as Qlik Sense and Alteryx;
  • A good level of IT and data analysis knowledge and an ability to express this knowledge in terms appropriate to the audience, such as endusers
  • Ability to understand rapidly the business requirements of Mayborn Group and to assist in shaping these into system requirements
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and users, supporting requirements gathering, system adoption and development
  • Ability to think clearly, and to write clear documentation which is sufficiently detailed, unambiguous and complete
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Strong skills in spoken and written English
  • Proven ability to deliver results

Who you'll be working with:
The role requires interaction with a number of stakeholders around the business, so be prepared to get talking to a wide range of stakeholders, including:

  • Managers
  • End users
  • Global users

Entry requirements:


  • A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area in any grade
  • English Language GCSE at Grade C (4+), or equivalent
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

QA's apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.

To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
