Job description:


The Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) is the UK Type Approval Authority and ensures that road vehicles meet the minimum safety and environmental standards as required by GB, UK, and UNECE regulations.

Our Portfolio is at the heart of both business improvement and new technology and regulatory changes.

This is an exciting and interesting role that puts you at the heart of delivering key portfolio responsibilities.

You will be involved in a variety of activities and play a key role in the smooth running of the portfolio & it's projects.

You'll work closely with Programme and Project Managers gaining exposure to and experience of high-profile projects.


This is a full time role; however, we would consider other working patterns, but would require you to work a minimum of 29.6 hours.

One of those days would need to be a Monday.


_ Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:_

  • Managing appropriate processes and systems to enable effective planning and scheduling of programmes and projects.
  • Assisting in maintaining project controls and in producing project reports.
  • Assisting in assurance review activities as required.
  • Organising key portfolio meetings, workshops and events.
  • Assisting with maintaining the Change Tracker for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Acting as the focal point for project responses to external requests for information.
  • Assisting with the monitoring of project spend and contributing to the compilation of budgets.
  • Assisting with and maintaining risk and issue logs, escalating as appropriate.
  • Helping and guiding lowerlevel changes through a structured change process.

This role may include occasional UK travel.


Person specification:


To thrive in this role, you will have previous experience of managing administration processes as well as working with stakeholders at all levels of the business.


You will also need to have an understanding of project delivery frameworks and methodologies such as Prince 2 and Agile.

You will be proficient using MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Teams, MS Project and/or Visio and SharePoint.

This is a busy role which requires someone who is organised, proactive and able to work at pace.
