This could be the role for you
We are looking for a Housing Maintenance Surveyor to join our Housing Services Team supporting the residents of Richmondshire.
The role
As our Housing Maintenance Surveyor, you will ensure that an effective, efficient, and consistent service is provided to all our customers who live in council owned accommodation.
Your main job purpose is to provide a comprehensive void property and responsive maintenance service, providing support and guidance to the Repair and Maintenance Operatives.
You are responsible for the supervision of Repair and Maintenance Operatives undertaking responsive repairs to council homes, inspect and order responsive repairs including the specification of materials, empty property repairs and responsive maintenance programmes / contracts and liaise with customers as required.
You are also responsible for allocating work to council appointed contractors, monitoring, and signing off work following satisfactory completion, as well as responding to reports of disrepair and/or repairs service-related complaints, undertaking investigations, and working closely with legal services in respect of disrepair claims.
The role is Monday to Friday with no weekend working and all bank holidays off.What you will bring
You will need a recognised Trade qualification HNC/City and Guilds level 2 or equivalent, you will have significant experience in a building/trade construction environment and knowledge of building construction/maintenance and the various trades involved.
Have knowledge of undertaking property repair inspections and knowledge of disrepair causes and remedies and be capable and confident of accurately specifying required time and materials required for repair works across all trade disciplines.
Have some experience in a supervisory position, good communication skills and a team player who values the importance of team working and who can support others.
Ideally, you would be IOSH certified, however training can be provided to ensure you meet this requirement.Working for us
