Hours: 27 1⁄2 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.45am-15.15pm, term time only plus 2 inset days.


We have this full time permanent contract available at our amazing school due to the promotion of one of our teaching assistants.**At Wickersley Northfield Primary School and in the Whitewoods Primary Academy Trust we are guided by, a strong ethos centred on improving the life chances of all children regardless of background or ability. We are looking to appoint a caring, well-qualified, experienced, enthusiastic and proactive person to join our team.

The successful applicant must have high expectations for pupils' educational, social and emotional development and be committed 'to go that extra mile' to support us to drive school improvements to benefit all our children and who will contribute to our exceptional learning community.

The post will be initial to support a Year Two class, although annually and within the year if necessary, our SLT and SENCO will monitor and assess the needs of individual children and class dynamics to best place the skill set of all our staff.

  • Are an excellent practitioner who is competent in literacy and numeracy
  • Have a knowledge and understanding of phonics and early reading, RWI knowledge and training desirable

  • Can build positive professional relationships with all pupils and staff.
  • Are able to work independently and as part of a team with initiative.
  • Are energetic, wellmotivated and flexible.

Duties will include:


  • Enhancing learning in the class, with small groups and on a onetoone basis.
  • Delivering interventions to meet the needs of the pupils.
  • Supporting the children's social and emotional well being.
  • Supporting the teacher to ensure our pupils get the best teaching and learning on a daily basis.
