Unitemps have an exciting opportunity for you to join a doctors surgery based in Stone, Staffordshire on a FULL-TIME basis.
Do you have experience in providing secretarial support? This
DUAL role will be split working 3 days as a secretary and 2 days in Prescriptions for their team.
As a GP Secretary, you will provide general secretarial support to the practice clinical staff involving word processing and generation of private medical reports as well as general clerical work.
In your other role you will support patients with queries relating to their prescriptions and to issue prescriptions within the practice protocols and guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilties:

Secretary_
- To provide an efficient copytyping and word processing service for GPs and health professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, etc. in an accurate and quality manner.
- To make referral appointments, bookings, and admissions as required.
- To maintain filing and administrative systems
- To retrieve medical records and insurance documents
- File patient records
- Update patient medical records
- To deal with patient queries
Prescription Clerk_
- To support the pharmacy team by preparing repeat prescriptions for issue.
- To process prescription queries from patients for the practice pharmacist to review
- To support the local pharmacies and nursing homes with their queries and request
- To work with the practice pharmacist to ensure the prescribing function of the practice is delivered efficiently, safely, and in a timely manner for patients and the practice.
- To assist with the gathering of statistics and information when required.
- To provide cover for members of the secretarial team and prescriptions admin team during periods of sickness and annual leave.
About you:

Essential Requirements _
- You will have strong experience in providing secretarial support. (5+ Years)
- Experience of working in a medical primary care setting or similar
- Proficent in using Computer Databases or CRM's
- Strong understanding of patient confidentiality and GDPR
- Educated to college level or higher
- Awareness of H&S at work requirements
- Commitment to ongoing development and CPD
- Good interpersonal skills
Desirable_
- Previous experience of using EMIS and/or AccuRx
