Job overview:
An experienced administrator is required to provide a competent and effective service to the In-patient Services Team.
Bowman ward is a twelve bedded male Low Secure Unit in Bodmin hospital.
We strive to provide a creative and holistic service for men who are experiencing severe and enduring mental health problems.
A flexible, adaptable individual is required to provide administrative and clerical support to the In-patient Services.
You must possess excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and work calmly under pressure and the ability to deal with the public.
Good standard of education English and Maths, essential qualifications RSA/OCR III Word Processing, NVQ 3 in Business Administration (or equivalent) and previous clerical and secretarial experience are essential for this position.
Previous experience of working in a the NHS and mental health setting and knowledge of the Trust's computer information systems would be desirable.
Demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach to their work and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, the general public and representatives from other hospitals and organisations.
This is a 37.5 hours per week, 5 days a week, Monday - Friday, however this possibly may require working a flexible week over 7 days post.
Main duties of the job:
- To provide a competent and effective administration service to Bowman Ward Team/Inpatient Services Department
- Dealing with telephone queries; typing correspondence, maintaining ward stores; opening and sending post and ensuring invoices are authorised and paid; ensuring patient admission packs and Mental Health Act paperwork available, updating Policies and Procedure Folders.
- Processing CQUINNS data and maintain database as required
- Organising CPA's and relevant documents
- Assist with Referral meetings and process relevant documents
- To ensure filing and efficient office systems are used and maintained
- Typing and distribution of all correspondence for ward team, including 24hour discharge letters
- Minute taking of all ward related meetings
- Responsible for maintaining patient administration system (RIO)and scanning all appropriate documents
