The Information Compliance and Records Management Unit sits within the Information Management Branch.

The unit has responsibility for meeting the Chief Constable's obligations under the GDPR and Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts and for advising upon and delivering Records Management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Information Management requirements of the Authorised Professional Practice (APP).

To perform this role, applicants need an awareness of GDPR and the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts, a basic awareness of Information Security and the basic principles of records management.

You will have experience in the use of computer systems, standard software packages and the use of spreadsheets and databases.

- provide postal, filing, ordering, and other administration duties

  • With customer service skills you will have the ability to work on a number of tasks simultaneously and manage a broad and divergent workload as well as having the ability to assimilate and analyse information quickly.
  • Handle incoming calls from members of the public, GMP staff and officers and other third party's


After a successful probationary period and competency evaluation, this role may be eligible for Agile working, which would offer a combination of office and home working.
